Monday, Wednesday & Fiday 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Dockworkers arrive at 10:30 am and drivers arrive at 10:45 am
meals are delivered between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm
The organization provides a hot and cold meal at a nominal fee for up to eighty members three days a week. Oil City Area Meals on Wheels will accept members within an eight mile radius of the Oil City Meals on Wheels location.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is the delivery of affordable, one hot and one cold, dietary approved meals, delivered to the members home three days a week in the Oil City area for a nominal fee. We represent one of the three such services in Venango County. We currently serve 20 members, three days a week, with the potential of serving 80 members five times a week. Our caring volunteers serve as a visitation group providing socialization and calling for emergency services, if necessary.
OIL CITY AREA MEALS ON WHEELS INFORMATION
Deliveries Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays year round. One hot and one cold meal with milk, juice or tea each delivery. Price for (6) six affordable meals is $24.00 per week (3) three days a week to members in the Oil City Area who may be recouperating from an illness, are elderly, or handicapped and wish to maintain their independence of living in their own home.
A BRIEF HISTORY
The Oil City Area Meals on Wheels non-profit group has been in existance for over thirty nine years serving from 20 to 40 people generally, with a maximum of 80 members. We cover approximately an 8 mile radius around Oil City. Our non-profit organization's purpose is to provide nourishing meals to individuals who for physical, medical or economic reasons are unable to prepare their food or procure meals for themselves. There are no financial assesment forms to complete before becoming a member.
