Military
Support - Prayer & Care
|
A military prayer and care support group within
Grace Church is in the process of forming. These are some of the
things we hope to accomplish:
|
| |
| (1) Our primary focus is on prayer
for all of the men and women associated with Grace Church who are
serving around the world. We also pray for all of the military personnel
who are sacrificing so much to answer the call of our government. |
| |
| (2) We
will be providing care packages, cards and notes to let them know
they are in our hearts and prayers. The box in the Sunday School
hall will remain for your donations to be sent our periodically.
In addition, we need financial contribution to assist with mailing
costs. We will keep you posted as to the specific needs of our troops. |
| |
| (3) We want to
make sure that the needs of the families at home are being met.
The family at home struggles with the additional burdens of chores
and responsibilities that were once done by the family member overseas.
We want to help with needs as they arise, be it baby-sitting, getting
a car fixed, pipes thawed our, or whatever the need may be. If you
become aware of these needs, or if you can help, please let one
of us know. |
| |
| (4) A "warm
line" is a phone list of family members who are in similar
situations. As we get together and distribute the phone lists, there
will always be someone to call when we are feeling overwhelmed. |
| |
| To further our support, we need the names and addresses of all
military associated with Grace Church. These can be church members,
family members or friends. Anyone who you support can be added to
our list. |
| |
Our group is not a women's group. It is open to te friends and
families who can help us to support each other through prayer and
practical help. Please join us.
The next meeting is on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at
N, J. Eckert's home. If you have any questions, please call the
church office at 814-677-3013. |
